At the beginning of GPS design, designers only used 10bit to characterize WN, resulting in WN only cycling between 0-1023. So GPS has an independent system for calculating date and time, measured in weeks, with seconds representing the satellite's position. When WN changes from 1023 to 0, there will be a GPS cycle flip, leading to the saying of welcoming a new week. 1024 weeks corresponds to approximately 19.7 years in the first half of the year. Starting from the starting time of the GPS system, the last GPS week reversal occurred on August 21, 1999, and this time it happened to be April 6, 2019. The next GPS week reversal will occur on November 20, 2038.
