The quality of core chip determines the performance difference of different GPS products to a large extent, and the chip technology is directly related to the technical index and future development trend of GPS products.
GPS chip consists of an RF integrated circuit, a digital signal processing circuit and standard embedded GPS software. Radio frequency integrated circuit used in GPS rf signal detection and processing, digital signal processing circuit for processing intermediate frequency signal, the standard embedded GPS software used to search and track the GPS satellite signal, and according to these signals to solve the user coordinate and speed, its main market is in the equipment, automobile, wireless portable computational devices as well as some CPS professional users.
This can be seen from the core technology of embedded CPS navigation system. Taking the 16/32 bit RISC processor S3C2410A chip of Samsung ARM9 series as an example, this chip is very suitable for the development of embedded system because of its powerful real-time processing ability and abundant peripheral interface. The system is designed based on these characteristics of the chip. The system takes SC2410A microprocessor as the core, and integrates two 32M SDRAM(HY57V561620CT) and 64M NANDFlash(K9F1208UOB) as the smallest system. In addition, the GPS module that can be used to receive GPS signals, the LCD panel for display, and the voice chip system of LJDAl341TS are installed outside the system.
ST offers a complete GPS solution, including GPS baseband controllers and RF receivers. The ST STA2051 uses an ARM7TDMI kernel, adds a dedicated APB and 12-channel GPS correlator, internal B256K+16K FLASH memory and 6K SRAM, and all the peripheral resources of the standard STR710. ST cooperate with STA2051 to release a complete software runtime based on ST proprietary embedded operating system OS, realize the complete GPS solution at the same time can provide open ARM and peripheral resources to users, more advantages in power consumption and cost.
