At the same time, the positioning of the new GPS will be more accurate, from the current 6 meters (20 feet) to 0.6 meters (2 feet). Due to the limitations left by the original design, the current GPS satellite has failed to completely separate the military and civilian channels. For a long time, the civilian frequency band (C/A code) of GPS is the military frequency band (P code) plus some additional interference signals. On the new generation of GPSIII satellites, this situation has been completely improved - the civil frequency band and the military frequency band have been separated, and the special L1C civil code signal frequency band has been added.
Other cool things about GPSIII are that the United States has reached an agreement with the European Union on L1C civil code signal frequency band, so that new generation GPS chips can receive signals from different global positioning systems, such as the Galileo navigation system in Europe, the GLONASS navigation system in Russia, and even the Beidou navigation system in China. The GPSIII specification also allows one receiver to use data located by multiple systems, thereby improving accuracy.
