GPS Landmark or Waypoint and ROUTE

　　The coordinate value of a point saved in the GPS memory. When there is a GPS signal, press the "MARK" key, and the current point will be marked as a landmark. It has a default name like "LMK04". You can change it to a recognizable name (letters are entered with up and down arrows), and you can also select an icon for it. Landmark is the core of GPS data, and it is the basis of "route" (see 3). Marking landmarks is one of the main functions of GPS, but you can also read the coordinates of a place from the map, and input GPS manually or through a computer interface to become a landmark. A signpost can be used for the GOTO function (see 5) in the future, or a route can be selected as a fulcrum (see 3.). Generally, GPS can record 500 or more landmarks.

　　A route is a group of data stored in GPS memory, including coordinates of a starting point and an ending point, as well as coordinates of several intermediate points. The line segment between every two coordinate points is called a leg. Common GPS can store 20 lines with 30 "legs" for each line. Each coordinate point can be selected from existing landmarks, or entered manually/computer, and the entered waypoint can be saved as a waypoint/landmark at the same time. In fact, all points of a route refer to a certain landmark. For example, if you change the name or coordinate of a landmark under the landmark menu, if a route uses it, you will find that the route has also changed. There can be an active route. " The waypoint of the active route is the target of the guidance (see 5) function.
