GPS death phenomenon

　　Like pay phones, getting lost is a disappearing phenomenon. The first suborbital navigation systems were introduced more than 50 years ago, and today more than 70 satellites orbit the Earth twice a day, and cars, phones and watches can use their signals to track every step we take.

　　Most people think this is a good thing. Knowing where we are is peace of mind; we always know which path is the shortest, saving time and fuel. GPS technology also appears to make outdoor adventures safer. Search and rescue operations fell from 3,216 in 2004 to 2,568 in 2014, according to the National Park Service.

　　Convenience comes at a price: "they" know where we are at all times. In most cases, this is because the software cannot receive accurate data on closed or poor communication roads, and the bright road on the screen may be the highway to hell.
