At present, vehicle positioning terminals generally have 12 channels and can receive 12 satellites simultaneously. The vehicle positioning terminal is equipped with a built-in GPS receiver to receive three satellites, which can output 2D data with only longitude and latitude and no altitude. If it receives more than four satellites, it can output 3D data and provide altitude data.

However, due to issues with the Earth itself, the circles are not standardized enough, resulting in some errors in the height data. Nowadays, some GPS receivers for vehicle positioning terminals have also added barometers, which can synthesize the final altitude based on the obtained altitude data and should be relatively accurate.

If the built-in GPS receiver of the vehicle positioning terminal is powered on for the first time, or when the last power on distance exceeded 500KM, because the ephemeris stored in the GPS receiver does not match, it is necessary to reposition on the GPS receiver.

The built-in GPS receiver of the vehicle positioning terminal should be used in open and visible sky, so it cannot be used normally indoors. The accuracy of ordinary car positioning terminals is usually around 10 meters, and its accuracy mainly depends on the reception of satellite signals and the distribution of satellites that can receive signals in the air.
