In some cases, for privacy or security reasons, we would like to detect whether our vehicle has been equipped with tracking devices such as GPS locators and remove them. How should we determine and remove the relevant devices? Different positioning and tracking devices should be tested according to different methods. Generally speaking, if classified according to the removal method, there are two common types of GPS trackers, namely wired real-time positioning GPS locators, And wireless long standby locator

  GPS positioning tracker

  1. Wired real-time positioning GPS tracker

As the name suggests, it is a GPS tracker that requires wiring. This type of GPS needs to be connected to the vehicle's power supply and operated through the vehicle's battery, usually working 24 hours a day. Due to being in working condition at all times and needing to be powered on, such equipment is easier to detect and dismantle. Generally, the position of the equipment can be located by detecting electromagnetic waves with a detector, or by searching along the circuit and then dismantling it

  2. Wireless long standby GPS locator

Wireless devices do not require an external power supply and cannot be detected along the line. Moreover, in order to extend standby time, these devices often do not turn on or work, so they cannot be detected by electromagnetic detection devices. This type of equipment can generally only be searched based on experience, and locations that are easy to hide and have good satellite signals can be investigated.
