The unified emergency phone number 112 is used for notification. In addition to the geographic location of the vehicle, eCall is also set to transmit data, allowing the 112 operator to determine the appropriate rescue method in both voice and message methods. It is scheduled that after September 2009, all new cars in the EU must have the function of eCall.
