Depending on the specific user, some systems require navigation parameters and bidirectional data/voice communication, such as anti smuggling boats. Sometimes, navigation parameters do not need to be provided, such as for private yacht theft prevention, which only requires one-way data communication. Once theft occurs, the navigation system on the yacht continuously sends its position and heading to the relevant center for tracking.
