  Deriving important functions based on non-positioning functions

  GPS positioning is based on the principle of timing. By releasing time information from satellites at different positions, the receiver can calculate the distance from each satellite after receiving the time difference, so as to obtain the specific position of the receiver. Therefore, from another perspective, the GPS system itself is a super-large timing system. GPS can come into play whenever you need to synchronize the time.

  According to the continuity and accuracy of GPS timing, it is more accurate than the broadcast timing and radio timing that we can access. The timing methods mentioned later have a certain interval, so errors will inevitably accumulate, so that the continuous GPS system , the whole region timing is more valuable.

  Because the time can be synchronized, in our power system, communication system, and financial system, as long as multiple individuals need time for accurate matching, the timing of the GPS system is necessary for these individuals. For example, the fault location, lightning monitoring, and relay protection required in the power system can be judged by the accurate time difference, and the efficiency of manual investigation will become very low.

  The communication system needs accurate timing, so as to distinguish between different communication systems when receiving and sending information without confusion, reducing the pressure on the system, the same is true for the financial system. If financial institutions around the world do not have a unified time, then the reliability of financial transactions will be greatly discounted.

  Through the global timing of GPS, such as the timetable of the airport, the accuracy of air transportation can be ensured by synchronizing the time, and the flight interference between routes can be reduced. It is precisely because of the importance of global timing that many countries hope to establish their own satellite positioning systems, including China's Beidou system, Russia's GLONASS system, European countries' Galileo system, India's GAGAN system, Japan's Quasi-zenith system, etc. Therefore, in the future life, we will usher in more and more abundant positioning services.
