The role of UAV GPS module

　　Engineers who have studied UAVs must know that GPS positioning system is one of the key technologies to support the safe flight of UAVs. The UAV knows its precise position when transmitting video and images, so it is equipped with a GPS signal receiver, that is, a built-in GPS module. The GPS module is required for real-time accurate positioning at any stage of take-off, navigation, hovering and return of the UAV.

　　On the other hand, the tracking function of UAV is the focus of professional enthusiasts. At present, the main solution is GPS tracking: the aircraft can achieve point-to-point tracking by locking the GPS signal issued by the GPS module of the target or the device carried by it. For example, when our remote control moves its position during flight, we only need to build a GPS module in the remote control to make the UAV return to its moved position after returning.

　　In other words, in actual use, the UAV and the remote control need to be equipped with the corresponding GPS module. At present, SKYLAB's relatively mature UAV navigation and positioning scheme is to apply the following three GPS modules, embedding GPS module (SKM66 customized type, SKG12D standard type) in the UAV for real-time positioning.
