The complete steps for installing a car GPS locator are:

　　1. Understand the vehicle structure and determine the optimal installation plan.

　　2. Confirm the installation location suitable for vehicle terminal host, GPS antenna, power-off relay and other objects. (Note: Except for external accessories, the selection principle is concealed installation. The vehicle terminal should be installed in a stable, shockproof, waterproof, heat-insulating, and concealed place. When installing the GPS antenna, the receiving surface should be facing upwards, and the horizontal inclination should not exceed 15 °. There should be no metal objects blocking or not easily obstructed by human metal objects above the antenna.)

　　3. Find the color and position of the power cord (DC 12-24V), ignition switch wire (ACC), and other wires closest to the terminal, and mark them accordingly.

　　4. After selecting the installation positions of each component, wiring begins. (Attention: The wiring should be neat and as consistent as possible with the original routing of the vehicle. The wiring harness must be tightly wrapped with electrical tape to avoid high temperature areas and prevent the harness from being squeezed by some moving parts. The GPS antenna should be installed completely concealed as much as possible, so as not to be easily hung, torn or artificially damaged.)

　　5. Line connection. When it is necessary to perform parallel wiring operations, the original wire should be pulled open with wire stripping pliers for about 10-15mm of exposed wire core, and then the head of the parallel wire core should be pierced through the wire before being wrapped and tightened; When a series connection operation is required, divide the two wire ends into two strands and twist them together with each other, then connect them together to ensure a secure connection. The car terminal should be connected to various accessories, and the connectors should be aligned and plugged in. The output and input wires should be firmly connected. (Note: All newly exposed connection wires should be wrapped with waterproof electrical tape at the end to prevent oxidation and corrosion of the joints over time.)

　　6. Connect the host and then turn on the backup power supply. If the card needs to be replaced, follow the following steps: turn off the backup power supply - unplug the host wire harness (disconnect the main power supply) - replace the card - connect the host wire harness - turn on the backup power supply.

　　7. Testing equipment function: Power on test to check if all indicator lights are normal; The status of red, yellow, or other colored indicator lights should be determined according to the instructions to determine if they are properly positioned.

　　8. Dial the SIM card (phone card) in the car terminal with a phone, and if it rings 4 times and then hangs up, it is considered that the car terminal system is normal.
